Meet the home

Built from family memory, restored for travellers.

We’re Moitreyee and Soumik, a Bangalore-based couple balancing corporate life, creative dreams, two children and our golden retriever, Messi. This house was built by Moitreyee’s grandfather in the 1950s and carries the memory of a real Kolkata family home.

In 2020, we moved back to Kolkata with a dream to restore those memories, brick by brick. Our first unit opened in November 2023, and guests began arriving with stories, laughter and friendship.

If we are travelling between Kolkata and Bangalore, Rabindra da and Pushpa welcome guests with the same warmth, care and practical support that define The Turquoise Letterbox.

Reach the right place without confusion.

Cab drop-off: 120, CIT Rd, Paddapukur, Entally, Kolkata, West Bengal 700014.

From the drop-off point, it is usually a 30-second to 1-minute walk to the homestay gate. WhatsApp your ETA and call the caretaker 10–15 minutes before reaching so he can guide you.

Before confirming

Booking terms at a glance.

These are the practical guest-facing terms for direct bookings. For OTA bookings, the policy shown on the platform will apply.

Booking confirmation

A direct reservation is confirmed after the required advance payment and guest details are received.

Payment

For direct bookings, a 50% non-refundable booking fee confirms the reservation. The balance is payable before check-in or as communicated during booking.

Cancellation

Cancellations after confirmation may forfeit the booking fee. Cancellations within 48 hours of check-in, no-shows or non-payment of balance may forfeit the full booking amount.

Refund timeline

Eligible refunds are processed within 5–7 working days after approval.

Check-in & ID

Guests must complete registration and provide valid ID. Visitors are welcome only after informing hosts and completing visitor registration with ID.

House rules

No smoking indoors. Please use balcony or terrace areas where permitted, observe quiet hours from 10:00 PM to 7:00 AM and switch off AC, lights and fans when stepping out.

Force majeure

If unforeseen events require cancellation or modification, we will try to accommodate guests or provide a refund where applicable.

Direct booking terms are governed by the laws of India with jurisdiction in Kolkata, West Bengal.
